The metric I focused on from the Life Expectancy data is 2018 life expectancy ages in all of the “A” countries. I looked at all of these charts in Flourish’s free options.
It’s interesting to see how the same data can be shown and portrayed so differently, and tell the same story in different ways. The only graph I had trouble with representing the data is the Heat Map, but the rest were very simple to put together and understand.
Final working title: The Diversity Zeitgeist and its Overhauling of the Fashion Industry
Much of the diversity reports on fashion industry stats are simply reports, and there isn’t much data visualization to express how the industry has changed over the past 10 years. For my final I’d like to zoom in on the diversification of the industry’s leaders to celebrate how much a whitewashed industry has become more and more inclusive on all fronts. As far as the data viz goes, I would like to fuse the aesthetic and creative visualization of Giorgia Lupi with the more streamlined work of Amanda Shendruk & Marc Bain in their Quartz piece on diversity in fashion campaigns, social media posts, and beyond.
